What
About Those That Don't Hear the Gospel Before They Die?
The Bible is clear that no one can come to God except through Jesus Christ. He is the only way we can be forgive of our sins and enter into a relationship with God the Father that leads to salvation. The Bible never explicitly teaches that someone who has never heard of Jesus can be saved, but it may be implied.
John 7:17 says "If anyone is willing to do His will, he will know of the teaching, whether it is of God or whether I speak from Myself." Romans 1:19,20 says "For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. Ever since the creation of the world His invisible nature, namely His eternal power and deity, has been clearly perceived in
the things that have been made. So they are without excuse." From these two verses can see that everyone knows that there is a God, there is no excuse for not knowing. We also see that people who are willing to do God's will and seek God, will know of the teaching of God.
It appears that those who would seek after God would find him. God's desire is that "none should perish but that all should come to repentance" 2 Peter 3:9. In fact, the Bible gives an example of a situation much like this. Cornelius was a religious man who was seeking for God. He had never heard of Jesus, but was seeking God's will. God answered his prayers by sending Peter to give him the full story of Jesus. This shows that God can make a way for people who desire to know him to hear about Jesus Christ.
We also know that God is just and will deal with everyone righteously and fairly. "Because he hast appointed a day, in which He will judge the world in righteousness." Acts 17:31 Knowing that God will judge those people fairly who have not heard the gospel should put our minds at ease. God is righteous and will always do the right thing.
So we come to the conclusion that if people sincerely seek God, even though they don't know the name of God or of Jesus, God will provide a way for them to put faith in our Savior Jesus Christ.
